Erlinda Valdez, Club President 2002-2003

Erlinda Valdez has spent a sizable chunk of her SO years volunteering to help other people. But she had to be gently coerced into her first volunteer effort, not because she didn't want to give her time, but because she was shy. After the encouragement of a youth leader at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Valdez started playing organ for the
church during her sophomore year in high school and hasn't stopped volunteering since.

Valdez, a Sanger resident for 46 years, has been the general manages of Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home for about ten years and has worked there for another nine years. When it comes to volunteering, Valdez does it all, from giving food and clothing through Rotary's program for needy families to putting on a huge carnival for the community
with St. Mary's and other churches in Sanger. Valdez feeds on the excitement from each event to carry her to the next. Valdez doesn't have a favorite project--she just likes to help people.
