The Rotary Foundation
Purpose
The Rotary Foundation, formed in 1917 as an Endowment Fund, was
changed in 1934 to a Trust, and in 1983 it was changed again and
established as a Not-For-Profit Corporation [501[c][3]]. The
objective of the Foundation is "to achieve world understanding
and peace through international charitable and education
programs". The Rotary Foundation’s further purpose is to
enhance understanding and friendly relations between people of
different nations. Voluntary contributions from Rotary Clubs,
individual Rotarians and others support the Foundation.
Fourteen programs are sponsored by The Rotary Foundation.
